Can I hire an attorney for a limited reason?
Some people want an attorney to handle only a small part of their family law case. One might want an attorney to help him/her with one upcoming hearing or just to be co-counsel at Trial. Whatever the reason, it can be accomplished. Talk to family lawyer about helping you resolve your custody dispute, helping you increase or decrease child support, to terminate maintenance, or whatever the issue is and ask if a limited scope representation is possible. Make sure you understand the scope and fee agreement, and ask as many questions as you need. Don’t forget most attorneys (including me) offer free consultations.
